What is the most narrow belt you make and its tensile strength?  I'm working on an Indian Chief and I'm putting a custom, 180 mm wide rear tire on the bike and I [censored]t to keep it belt drive if at all possible.  The problem is, I will only have room for about 3/4" of belt to keep suitable clearance from both the frame and tire.  I know I can go to a chain drive but would  very much like to stay belt!

Jughead,

Sounds like a very interesting project. My recommendation to you is contact our Industrial Power Transmission department for further information at ptpasupport@gates.com . Since this is a custom application they will offer you the best information on the proper belt selection. Drive design, length, power and pulley selection is critical to the proper performance of a belt for your application.

Good luck with your project.

Jon
